Katy Aktemel
I am Katy, a Specialist Radiographer in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT in Glasgow.
I have been working within the NHS for 4 years now. My career began in A&E and outpatients during COVID-19, then shortly after, I joined the IPEM Clinical Technologist training scheme in Nuclear Medicine, as from my university training, I knew this was the career for me.
Amongst working full-time in nuclear medicine, I also undertake a part-time MSc in Diagnostic Imaging with Glasgow Caledonian University to further my learning and research skills. Learning and developing as a professional is very important to me, and with being in the early stages of my career, I chose to join IPEM Early Careers panel, to contribute to improving the experiences of professionals in physics, engineering and medicine in the early stages of their careers.
Jack Garland-Brock
I'm Jack, and I am a Pathology IT Systems Lead working at Liverpool Clinical Laboratories, as well as a 3rd year Trainee Clinical Scientist specialising in Clinical Informatics.
I've been with the NHS for 5 years now and have worked in all manner of environments from general practice to medical physics and clinical engineering, to now working in a laboratory.
Data is my bread and butter, with my specific interests being in big data and statistical modelling, but all aspects of Clinical Science are of interest to me, and I love working in multidisciplinary teams like the one I have here at LCL and within IPEM's Early Career Panel.
